Margarites is one of the largest ceramic art centers in Greece with 17 workshops – exhibitions where the visitor can admire creations with old and new clay techniques. In the taverns and cafes of the area you can taste traditional Cretan dishes.
In the summer months the village residents organize various cultural events such as concerts, ceramics festivals, exhibitions, theatrical performances (boutalia).
